Andrew has worked in Investment Banking for 20 years. Prior to co-founding Anthem in 2002, Andrew was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Leveraged Finance Group and prior to that a Managing Director in Chase Manhattan’s Global Syndicated Finance Group.
Andrew specializes in strategic financing advice and M&A and has led in excess of £121bn of advisory and financing related assignments including those supporting principal investments, Mergers, Acquisitions, Infrastructure, Oilfield, Airline, Aerospace transactions and venture funding. He has extensive experience advising a range of major global companies on capital markets issuance and restructuring transactions.
Notable financing and M&A assignments include those for Vodafone (one of the largest ever corporate transactions - the $125bn acquisition of AirTouch), ICI, BAT, PowerGen, Pearson, Unilever, Thyssen Krupp and Repsol and first time capital market issuance for Orange, OmniTel, Bouygues Telecom, Syngenta, Energis, NTL, and CompleTel. Most recent assignments include those for Atlas Elektronik, EADS, XL Airways France, XL Airways Germany, SICPA, Orange, MessageLabs, and Bulldog Communications; for financial sponsors including Carlyle, APAX, Cinven, Candover, 3i, Esprit and GI Partners and the provision of advice to certain government bodies.
Andrew is a graduate of Downing College, Cambridge with an MA in Law.
